A few of us here at Byers Precision recently took an introductory machinist class at Blue Ridge Community College. Even though the class was not meant to make us into first class machinists we did manage to learn a lot that is applicable in our line of work now that we have the ‘Chip Making Machines’. My co-worker and me have a better understanding of the processes involved which helps when we are modeling machined parts in SolidWorks. Here is a list of links that the instructor gave us, they present a wealth of useful information that may be handy to some of you.
