Tip #1
Make the MEASURE tool more useful:
Create a Hot key (I use ALT-M) and assign the measure command to it.
Now you can CTRL select 2 entities and then ALT-M to get the distances between them.

Tips from Bob Harris of Karpen Steel
Here are a few things I picked up recently from Michael Jolley. Some of these are taught in the Essentials class but seem to get lost. Don't know if you can use them as tips & tricks or not.
- Hide solid bodies when adding relationships to sketches, to pick entities and planes
- Ctrl>Select and drag planes to create new parallel plane
- Pack & Go to zip file for creating backup files\
- In parts with multiple features, suppress sketch to avoid feature errors
- Use Display/Delete Relations button for troubleshooting sketches
- Right click in drawing to open part
- Use Insert Cut with surface to create a cut with a plane
