Preparing to take CSWP (Certified SolidWorks Professional)
Having passed the CSWA test several years ago I’ve been resting on my laurels and putting off taking the CSWP. In the last few days I’ve finally started getting serious about taking the exam. If you are under the paid subscription service you can take the test for free. If not then it will cost you $99. The test has changed since I last checked into it. It is now in three separate sections which makes it much easier as you don’t have to devote a huge block of contiguous time to take it. Sometime during the summer months I will be taking the test. I plan on using a few of my vacation days for this so that there will be no interruptions from work.
Why take the test? My job doesn’t require it. I don’t expect (knock on wood) to be entering the job market anytime soon. I feel like I know enough already to use the software proficiently as I do my typical job functions. So I guess in my case it’s for personal satisfaction and the thrill of conquering a challenge.
As I started looking into the possibility of taking the test I put together these links which might be useful for some of the readers of this blog.
Solidworks’ webpage devoted to the CSWP.
Read about Bertrand Sicot’s experience taking the CSWP segment 1 test. Betrand is the CEO of DS SolidWorks.
The link to the sample CSWP exam.
3Dengr’s website has a bunch of blogs that can help you prepare for the test.
There are also CSWP prep courses you can buy. Checkout SolidProfessor and I get it for these. WARNING: They are expensive! Do a search on youtube for CSWP and you will find some usef
I encourage everyone to get busy. Let’s make this a competition and see who can get it done first. Let’s hold each other accountable to getting it done. We need to encourage, challenge and help each other to reach the goal of passing the CSWP before the end of the year.
Please make a commitment and make it public by commenting on this posting. Have any tips? Share them. Have any links with useful information about the CSWP? Share them.
